Elsas Kopje wildlife lion

Elsa’s Kopje was thrilled to be amongst hundreds of members of the local community in Meru National Park completing the Walk on the Wild Side 20,000 step challenge. The 600-strong group, including children from schools in the local area completed the steps which poignantly represent the number of lions remaining in the wild.

During the walk, the team were alerted to five elephants who were grazing close to the route, so carefully worked out an alternative path to ensure they were not disturbed – a perfect example of how people and wildlife can co-exist.
