Shanga’s partnership with local Masai women from the Lemoti Boma near Tarangire Treetops Lodge has expanded further. The head beader at Shanga recently taught the local Masai women how to bead a bottle cuff which Elewana guests will receive as a gift to use together with a reusable water bottle, allowing guests to easily identify their bottles whilst on safari with a larger group. The beautiful handmade beaded cuffs fit onto the bottles and guests can choose their favourite colour to bling up their bottle. The selling of these beaded items to Elewana is a major source of income that enables the Masai ladies to send their children to school and support their community.
