On 20th September 2025, Wildlife Rangers across Africa ran a 21 Km race while carrying 22 Kg backpacks in some of the most stunning landscapes around the continent. The annual event is organised by the Tusk and Game Rangers Association of Africa (GRAA) to celebrate and support Africa’s rangers by enhancing their livelihoods, improving their performance, training and safety, and advocating for transformative changes in conservation. Collectively, Tusk and GRAA have invested over $21 million into ranger welfare and development across Africa through the Wildlife Ranger Challenge.
Elewana’s Kifaru House Lewa and the Land & Life Foundation were proud to be part of this initiative as a key supporting partner for the ranger teams hosted at the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Our primary role was to host and manage the first water station at the 5 Km mark, providing water and fresh fruit to the competing teams. 27 teams participated in the Lewa hub event, including two international teams from Tanzania. Elewana's involvement effectively demonstrated our commitment to the vital work of rangers and solidified our role as an active and supportive partner within the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and the wider East African tourism and conservation community.
