Earlier this month Star Alliance member Egypt Air launched a new nonstop three times a week service between Cairo and Washington DC. The service is operated with a Boeing B787-9 aircraft with 30 seats in Business class and 279 seats in Economy class.

Star Alliance membership and a code share agreement with United means that north American travelers can now easily combine a visit to the wonders of ancient Egypt with a visit to the natural wonders of an East African safari.

Days of operation are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and departure times of flight MK981 are ex Cairo at 11:00 p.m., arriving in Washington at 4:14 A.M the next day. The return flight then departs Washington at 12.00 p.m. arriving back in Cairo at 4:50 A.M the next day.
